Privacy
Last updated: July 2026. This is a working draft; the final text will be reviewed by a lawyer before public launch.
Astrolab serves teenagers among others, so privacy is designed in. The core principle is anonymous by default and minimal data. Operator: the Astrolab project (nikam.dev). We follow privacy-by-design and data minimization: we collect as little as we can and never sell it.
No account needed
The whole test — questions, profile, result and share link — works with no account and no personal data. A session is keyed by a random token, not by you personally.
What we collect
Your test answers, age range, country and education stage — to compute the result. If you create an account, only an email (or a Telegram id). We don't ask for your name. Adults may paste a description of their experience or a resume — it is used only for matching and is not stored as a separate document.
Why
Data is used only to show your result and to match professions and study paths. We don't sell data and don't use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Anonymous sessions — up to 90 days, then deleted automatically. Share links — 180 days. Account data — until you delete it. Backups are rotated within 30 days.
Tokens and security
Sign-in and share links are stored only as a hash, not in the clear. The connection is encrypted (HTTPS).
For minors
If you're under 14, it's better to take the test together with a parent. Creating an account under 18 requires a parent's consent (checked and recorded). A parent never sees your raw answers — only strengths and how to support you.
Analytics and AI
We use privacy-friendly traffic analytics (GoatCounter): it counts visits without cookies and without personal data, doesn't track you across sites and shows no ads. We use no ad pixels or trackers like Google Analytics. AI processes answers to write explanations; the raw text of your answers doesn't go into logs.
Your rights
You can delete your data and your account in one click from your account page — it cascades to all sessions, answers and results. If you need help, email nick@nikam.dev.
Contact
Delete your data and account yourself from your account page. For other data questions — nick@nikam.dev. Operator: the Astrolab project (nikam.dev).
